Spring 2010

Isn't it nice to be looking back at another New England winter? Heavy wet snow in early winter caused some damage but we never had prolonged periods of extreme low temperatures so we are not experiencing much winter burn on evergreens. Repeated patterns of high winds have caused considerable damage during the last month of winter. Our crews have been busy removing trees from roof tops, automobiles and wires. After 33 years in this business I can certainly attest to the old adage. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Winter Moth Caterpillars

After almost 10 years in New England the winter moth caterpillars have reached epidemic proportions. If you noticed moths flying around your outdoor lights in late November and early December of 2009 then chances are you will have winter moth caterpillars defoliating your trees this spring.
